Mara's Arrow - Foil

$20.00

“On the night the Buddha was to attain enlightenment, he sat under a tree. While he was sitting there, the forces of Mara shot arrows at him to distract him from becoming enlightened, but with the power of awareness he simply turned their weapons into flowers.”

This piece was inspired by the above passage and the four maras: Devaputra, Skandha, Klesha, and Yama. This serves as a reminder to be comfortable with uncertainty. To be able to sit with our pain. Remain open and inquisitive. Develop true compassion for ourselves and everyone else. To understand that a fear of death is really actually just a fear of life. And to just let go of control.

But most of all, to always turn the arrows of life into flowers. Drawing is dedicated to my sister, an incredibly passionate and inspiring woman.

Available on black or white paper with the following foil options:

Silver, Pink, Gold, Rose Gold, Mint, Silver (holographic), Magenta (holographic), Teal (holographic)
